Setback for 32MW Highland wind plan

Partners EDF and Wind Prospect Developments suffered a setback when their proposal for a 13-turbine wind farm on the Tressady Estate in the north of Scotland was rejected by the Highland Council.

The 32.5MW wind farm plans to use 115-metre-high turbines at the site about 5km north of Rogart

Local councillors were alarmed at its proximity to residents’ homes and ignored a recommendation by planning officials to approve the scheme.

The developers said they will consider their next move when full details of the decision become available.
