RES advances UK wind plans

RES has been granted permission to build its 12.6MW Turncole onshore wind farm in Essex, England, and laid out plans for a 13-turbine project on the Aberarder Estate in the Scottish Highlands.

Turncole – which was approved by communities secretary Eric Pickles, having been rejected several years ago at the local level – is the UK-based developer’s third onshore wind farm to achieve consent in England in the past two years.

The Turncole project is located between Southminster and Burnham in the Maldon District of Essex.

Separately, the developer also unveiled plans for its Aberarder project, which would be sited near the 99MW under-construction Dunmaglass project, which RES sold last year to SSE.
