MRP unveils 1GW 2014 to-do list

Ireland’s Mainstream Renewable Power (MRP) has unveiled a 1GW-plus list of wind and solar projects where it expects to reach financial close and enter construction this year – including the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe offshore wind farm.

Neart na Gaoithe, in Scottish waters, is expected to reach financial close this year and see preliminary construction work begin in late 2014, MRP said.

Also on MRP’s to-do list for 2014 are a trio of wind projects in South Africa.

The Khobab and Loeriesfontein 2 wind farms – both 140MW – are both due to start construction in the third quarter of the year, as is the Noupoort project of 80MW.
