RES faces Cairn Duhie objection

The Cairngorms

The planning committee of Scotland's Cairngorms National Park Authority (CNPA) has voted to object to the planned 20-turbine Cairn Duhie wind farm on Dava Moor.

The project – proposed by developer RES between Grantown-on-Spey and Nairn in the Scottish Highlands – had been recommended for a green light by the authority’s own planning officers.

The planners concluded that Cairn Duhie would not have a significant impact on the special qualities of the Cairngorms National Park.

But a CNPA statement said committee members “felt the landscape setting and the cultural integrity of the Park were at risk, with Cairn Duhie wind farm just 8km from the boundary of the Cairngorms National Park, and unanimously agreed to submit an objection”.
