Siemens gets 21MW German order

Siemens has won a turbine order for the 21MW Holzacker-Knorburg citizens‘ wind project in northern Germany.

Project developer ee-Nord will build the wind park near the municipalities of Enge-Sande and Stadum in Schleswig-Holstein state, starting to erect seven of Siemens’ SWT-3.0-113 turbines in the early summer of 2014.

Each machine has a capacity of 3MW, a tower height of 92.5 metres and rotor diameter of 113 metres.

The order includes a 20-year service contract for Siemens.

“We are especially happy about the Holzacker-Knorburg project as it allows us to demonstrate the technical and economic advantages of our direct-drive installations directly on the ground in Northern Germany,” says Siemens Wind Power technology head Henrik Log in to read complete article.
