German utility RWE has confirmed that its British renewables arm will be known as RWE Innogy UK from today.
The plan to move from the previous branding of RWE npower
renewables was reported by Recharge earlier this month.
RWE said the move brings the
UK into line with the wider Innogy renewables operation.
Hans Bünting, CEO of RWE Innogy said: “The change of name is in response
to a number of factors, which includes feedback from external stakeholders, and
very importantly employees, who want to feel more integrated with one of
Europe’s largest renewable energy companies.
"The re-naming will further help to
underline and reinforce the identity of RWE Group’s renewable energy division.”
