Natural Power year-end wind frenzy

Renewables consultancy Natural Power said the end of 2013 saw one of the busiest weeks for years in wind-power mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

Natural Power was involved as vendor or buy-side advisor in more than 1GW of deals that took place as utilities divested stakes in their wind interests.

In total, acquisitions of more than 1.8GW of operating or in-development wind capacity took place, making it one of the most active weeks for wind M&A since 2006 said Natural Power, quoting Clean Energy Pipeline.

Scotland-based Natural Power said it provided due diligence to clients involved in deals such as GDF Suez’s sale of a 50% stake in its 440MW French onshore wind portfolio.
