Alstom is rolling out its 6MW offshore turbine

Yves Rannou, an executive within Alstom’s hydroenergy business, will replace Alfonso Faubel as senior vice president for Alstom’s wind unit from 1 April.

A 15-year veteran of Alstom, Rannou has spent most of his time within the company’s hydro division, and has been managing director of Alstom Hydro in China since 2011.

Faubel’s new title will be senior vice president of sales and marketing in charge of Alstom’s Global Power Sales organization for both thermal and renewable energy.

Rannou joins Alstom Wind at a critical time for the division, as it aggressively ramps up its sales drive for its 6MW direct-drive Haliade turbine.

In November Alstom hired former Vestas offshore chief Anders Soe Jensen as deputy vice president of its offshore wind unit. Like Faubel before him, Rannou will report to Alstom Renewable Power president Jérôme Pécresse.
