Germany-based REpower Systems has won a 40MW turbine supply contract covering two wind farms in France.

The Suzlon subsidiary will deliver the 20 2MW turbines to GDF Suez Future Energies at its Somme Soude and Hangest wind farms.

Somme Soude, in the Champagne-Ardenne region, will use nine MM92 and one MM82 machines. That project is due for commissioning in September 2014.

Hangest, in Picardie, will use 10 MM92s and is due to enter service in October next year.

REpower will provide maintenance services at the wind farms for at least five years.
