REpower wins 266MW in Germany

Suzlon’s German REpower unit has signed contracts to deliver 103 wind turbines with a combined capacity of more than 266MW to 24 community wind farms in northern Germany.

“With these contracts, we are significantly expanding our position in Northern Germany,” REpower chief executive Andreas Nauen says.

“This is only possible because we have a suitable turbine for each individual site in our product portfolio, from Lübke-Koog in the far north, to near (the island of) Fehmarn in the east of Schleswig-Holstein.”

The large order follows up on a memorandum with the purchasing association Schleswig-Holstein GmbH Wind in late 2012 that bundles together the interests of several dozen community wind farm associations.
