RES applies for 17-turbine Keirs Hill

UK renewables developer RES has submitted an application for its 17-turbine Keirs Hill project in East Ayshire, Scotland.

With an installed capacity of up to 57.8MW, the fate of Keirs Hill will be decided by Scotland’s Energy Consents and Deployment Unit, with the local planning authority acting as a statutory consultee.

The project, which will use turbines with a maximum height of 149m erected between Patna and Dalmellington, began its consultation process two years ago.

Scotland is a focal point for RES’s onshore wind activities, having recently announced development plans for a 25-turbine project between Invergarry and Fort Augustus, and received approval from the government for its 14-turbine Penmanshiel wind project in the Scottish Borders.
