Renewables developer RES has revealed “early development plans” for an onshore wind farm in the Scottish Highlands.

RES today announced that it hopes to submit a planning application to the Scottish government next year for a 25-turbine project on the Culachy Estate, along the 13km stretch between Invergarry and Fort Augustus.

RES, which is among the UK’s most experienced wind developers, has begun a consultation process with the local community.

Set along the A82 – an important route for heavy traffic in the region, in addition to being hugely popular with Highlands tourists – the project’s location could prove a blessing and a curse for the developer, which may face Log in to read complete article.
