Gamesa lands 2.3GW maintenance deal

Spanish wind turbine manufacturer Gamesa has signed a three-year contract with utility giant Iberdrola to provide maintenance for 2.286GW of turbines in Spain and Portugal.

It has also won a contract to maintain 108MW of capacity at three Iberdrola wind farms in Hungary.

The new contract for Spain and Portugal will see Gamesa handle maintenance of 1,143 of its 2MW turbines, with an option to extend the deal for another two years.

Gamesa has agreements with Iberdrola to maintain 6GW of turbines worldwide. In 2011, the two companies signed a three-year maintenance deal for 1.748GW of Gamesa 650Kw and 850Kw machines in Spain and Portugal.
