Windreich offices searched in fraud probe

Stuttgart investigators were involved

German wind developer Windreich insists claims made against it are “unfounded” after its headquarters was searched by investigators from the Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office – apparently over suspicions of huge balance sheet manipulation.

A  statement from the prosecutor’s office says with the help of 35 officers of the regional criminal investigation department it has searched four private apartments and the headquarters of a “business in the renewable energy sector.”

The public prosecutor does not name the company, but Windreich on its website confirms the search of its premises and says it will fully cooperate with the officials.

Windreich claims the search was prompted by a false, anonymous report.
