Five
mandrels
stored
in
an
outdoor
area
at
the
plant
in
Aalborg
caught
fire
on
Sunday
afternoon.
The
mandrels,
used
as
moulds
in
the
blade
production
process,
created
a
thick
black
smoke,
but
the
blaze
was
soon
extinguished
and
nobody
was
injured.
A
spokesperson
for
Siemens
Wind
Power
says
the
mandrels
were
not
in
use
and
the
incident
has
not
affected
production.
“We
are
producing
at
full
steam.”
A
spokesman
for
North
Jutland’s
police
tells

a
firework
was
found
near
the
scene
and
could
have
been
responsible.
“We
are
currently
investigating
the
reason
for
the
fire
and
whether
it
was
started
deliberately,”
