First
Minister
unveiled
plans
to
enhance
the
offshore
renewables
manufacturing
potential
of
the
northern
ports
of
Nigg,
Ardersier,
Invergordon
and
Kishorn
through
a
memorandum
of
understanding
with
Highlands
and
Islands
Enterprise
(HIE).
HIE,
the
Highland
equivalent
of
the
old
English
regional
development
agencies,
was
committing
to
help
with
their
£100m
($156m)
upgrading.
Roughly
double
the
estimate
from
a
couple
of
years
ago,
on
offer
will
be
regional
selective
assistance
grants,
fast-track
planning
and
so
forth.
