Renerco nails finance for UK wind

Some of the turbines will be from Enercon

German bank LBBW has arranged financing of about £80m ($126m) to enable developer Renerco to build three wind farms in the UK.

The German developer will build the plants at Earls Hall Farm in Essex and Cotton Farm in Cambridgeshire, both England, and Aberdeenshire in Scotland.

The trio of wind farms will have a total capacity of 45MW, powered by a mixture of REpower and Enercon turbines. No project timelines are given.

LBBW says Renerco will invest a total of £88m to build the projects, which have power purchase agreements in place for their output.

Renerco is a a subsidiary of the German BayWa conglomerate.
