GE wind orders from Sweden, Romania

The Swedish project will use GE 1.6MW turbines

US wind turbine manufacturer GE has unveiled European orders in Sweden and Romania totalling 33.5MW.

The industrial giant will deliver 10 of its 1.6-100 machines to developer Fredriksdal Energi for a project in Sweden.

The turbines will be installed this year at the plant in Fredriksdal, south of Nässjö.

GE also announced a 17.5MW deal with Energia Verde Ventuno for seven 2.5-103 turbines to power its Cerna Wind Park in Romania’s Tulcea region.

Cerna is due to enter service later this year, and is also the subject of a 10-year service agreement with GE.
