Enel Green Power adds 900MW

Italian renewables giant Enel Green Power (EGP) grew its revenue and profits in 2012 as extra wind capacity boosted electricity production.

EGP saw earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) of €1.7bn against 2011’s €1.6bn, according to preliminary results.

Revenues were €2.7bn, up from €2.5bn last time.

By the end of last year EGP’s net capacity stood at 8GW, with 4.3GW of that accounted for by wind power.

It says wind accounted for most of the 900MW added last year, with the extra capacity helping to boost power output by 12% to 25.1TWh.
