Renewable
Energies
business
unit
pulled
in
€572m
($781m)
in
2012,
92.3%
ahead
of
the
year
before.
The
company
said
revenue
from
offshore
wind
was
“up
sharply
with
the
progress
of
the
GlobalTech
1
and
Borkum
West
2
projects
in
Germany”.
The
construction
of
concentrating
solar
power
(CSP)
projects
in
Australia
and
India
also
played
its
part.
But
Areva
said
the
renewables
group’s
backlog
fell
by
half
to
€844m
at
the
end
of
2012,
partly
because
of
cancellation
of
bioenergy
orders
in
Brazil.
