Arise deal for 130MW of Norway wind

An Arise wind farm in Sweden

Swedish power-producer Arise Windpower has signed a conditional agreement to buy a 130MW wind project in Norway.

The deal is for an up-to 45-turbine wind farm in the Aremark municipality of Norway, which is currently in the permitting process and is being developed by Oslo-based Havgul Clean Energy.

Construction at the site cannot begin until 2014 at the earliest, says Arise.

If the deal is finalised, it would be the Swedish group’s first major wind project in Norway.

Arise wants to build 1GW of onshore wind by 2017, half of which it would retain under ownership.
