BayWa sells Bavarian wind farm

The wind farm uses Vestas turbines

The renewables unit of German trading company BayWa has sold its Gunzenhausen wind park in the state of Bavaria to an infrastructure fund of Union Investment, the investment arm of a group of cooperative banks.

The wind farm consists of nine Vestas V90-2.0MW turbines for a total capacity of 18MW.

Gunzenhausen was the first wind park to be completed in Bavaria, BayWa says.

Wind power development in southern Germany is generally lagging behind northern states, where wind conditions are better and support for the energy source  has been far more pronounced.
