RWE Innogy adds 21.6MW in Germany

Utility RWE Innogy is bringing 21.6MW of wind capacity online at two sites in Germany.

The German utility group this week commissioned the 13.6MW Jüchen wind farm in the Rhine district of Neuss, on the site of one of its former opencast mines.

RWE will co-run the plant with power producer BMR Windenergie.

The utility is also poised to grid-connect the Hörup wind farm in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, which has been repowered from 2MW to 8MW.

Hörup is being bought by joint venture company Green Gecco, which is co-owned by RWE Innogy and 29 municipal utilities and suppliers.
