RE big-guns head for Holmenkollen
Leading officials from the renewable energy industry – and Scotland’s energy minister Fergus Ewing – are gathering in Oslo for the first Recharge Holmenkollen Thought Leaders Summit.
The invitation-only seminar and networking event tomorrow has been designed to provide a unique opportunity for industry leaders to discuss the challenges and opportunities that 2014 will bring in an off-the-record environment.
“The renewable energy sector is at a cross roads,” said Recharge editor in chief Ben Backwell.
“Wind and solar have reached critical mass and become mainstream power generation technologies, but this has brought growing pains and increased resistance from incumbent energy sources. A frank and open discussion is needed about how the industry should act in the coming period.”
Participants will include officials from leading equipment suppliers and utilities such as E.ON, Statoil, Siemens, Vestas, GE, and industry bodies such as GWEC and EWEA, as well as banks and policy makers.
Recharge will host the first of its annual Thought Leader dinners, with Ewing as guest speaker.
The event is sponsored by leading certification agency and consultancy DNV-GL Group, whose CEO Henrik Madsen will be opening the day’s proceedings.
