EGP boost sales, profits on output

Italy’s Enel Green Power (EGP) boosted revenue and profits last year as sales of electricity grew.

EGP posted 2013 preliminary earnings of   €1.8bn before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda), €200m up on its 2012 figure. Revenue increased 12% to €2.8bn.

The Italian renewables giant had a total net installed capacity of 8.9GW by the end of last year, 5.1GW of that wind and 300MW of solar, up a total of 11.3%.

Power generation for 2013 was 29.5TWh, a 17.5% uplift.

EGP CEO Francesco Starace claimed the figures again justified the group’s quest for “increasing technological and geographical diversification with the quest for operational excellence.

“Once again this year we have expanded installed capacity by more than 900MW, strengthening our presence in many areas of the world and continuing development in markets such as the US and Latin America, where we have a significant number of projects under way,” Starace said.
