Nordex gets another Finland order
German manufacturer Nordex has been awarded an order for another 19 of the cold-climate version of its N117/2400 turbines for the Myllykangas wind farm in northwestern Finland.
The 45.6MW order is the third project under a framework agreement signed in 2012 with Finnish wealth management company Taaleritehdas for a total of 111 turbines, which represents one of Nordex’s largest ever sales agreements.
It has already acquired 17 Nordex turbines specially developed for IEC-3 wind classes for the nearby Honkajoki and Nyby-li sites.
Taamir Fareed, director of Taaleritehdas Wind Energy Operations, said:“We have very good experience of Nordex N117 turbines from our Honkajoki site and therefore feel confident in continuing to install Nordex turbines in our next development site in Myllykangas.”
The Myllykangas deal includes a service contract and is scheduled to be grid-connected in 2015.
Along with the projects Nyby-Ii, Mäkikangas and Joukhaisselk, Nordex will be installing more than 40 turbines with a total capacity of 125MW in Finland, which has become one of the manufacturer’s main areas of expansion.
