The 44.35MW Knocknagoum, in the Stack’s Mountains, County Kerry, in the southwest of the Republic of Ireland, is up and running after construction was finished last year.
The project, which consists of 26 Vestas V52 turbines,is one of two wind farms that Invis Energy is bringing on line in 2014. The second, Leitir Gungaid, a 42.8W project on the Atlantic coast in County Galway that uses 17 Enercon E82 turbines, is due to become operational in the middle of the year.
