Nordex wins 66MW Scotland order
German manufacturer Nordex has received an order to supply the 66MW Moy wind project in northern Scotland with 20 of its N100/3300 turbines.
The wind farm near Inverness is due to be completed in late summer 2016 by Dutch energy group Eneco. Nordex also won a 15 year service contract for the project.
Nordex says the N100/3300 is designed for IEC1a conditions, and will be installed to make optimum use of the strong winds prevailing at this site. Delivery is due in 2015.
“Nordex has had good and extensive experience on IECa sites in the UK in the past,” says Nordex management board member Lars Bondo Krogsgaard.
“With this project, we have the chance of continuing on this path successfully and of demonstrating the strengths of the N100/3300.”
The Scottish government in January had given the planning green light for the £65m ($107.3m) Moy project.
