The wind farm, situated in Aultmore Forest, Banffshire, will feature 13 turbines, enough to meet the annual domestic requirements of around 18,000 households.
“As well as supporting Scotland’s drive to generate 100% of Scottish demand from renewables by 2020, our project will boost the economy of NE Scotland by more than £10m ($16m),” said Alison Daugherty, Vattenfall’s senior project manager.
