Copenhagen move for Vestas teams
Danish wind group Vestas intends to sell one of its office buildings in Aarhus and relocate some teams to Copenhagen.
The company plans to move its global sales and marketing, communications and corporate relations, and finance functions (except IT) to the Danish capital in the second half of this year.
All affected employees – expected to be about 200 – will be offered the chance to relocate, said Vestas.
The wind group’s headquarters and CEO’s office will stay in Aarhus.
Vestas said the move would give staff in the relevant departments easier access to essential contacts such as financiers, customers and the media, enabling more efficient travel.
The move is part of Vestas’ “Profitable Growth” initiative and is expected to save about €10m ($13.7m) per year.
