Vestas, Juwi 225MW framework deal

Vestas and German developer Juwi have signed a framework agreement for 75 of Vestas’ V112-3.0MW turbines, with an order for 21MW already firm and unconditional.

The seven 3MW machines deriving of the firm order will be installed in Germany’s Rhineland Palatinate state during the third quarter of this year. The deal includes supply, installation and commissioning of the wind turbines, as well as a 15-year service agreement.

The Danish wind turbine maker expects to deliver and install the remainder of the machines from the framework agreement within 2014 at sites across Germany.

“We are proud to enter – only one year after our first - a second strategic agreement with Juwi, one of the leading developers in the German market,” says Vestas Central Europe president Klaus Steen Mortensen.

Today’s framework deal follows the successful completion of a previous agreement for 47 wind turbines, signed in 2012.

After releasing its V112-3.0MW wind turbine in August 2010, Vestas by the end of last year had already delivered 937 units of the machine worldwide, representing a capacity of more than 2.8GW. It has received more than 5GW in firm orders for the model.
