The Scottish government gave the green light for Freasdail wind farm, an 11-turbine development of more than 20MW on the Kintyre Peninsula.

The decision was made by an independent reporter appointed by the government to assess the developer's appeal against the local council’s decision to refuse planning permission.

Construction is expected to start next year.
