Stiesdal, Kjaersgaard leave Siemens

Two senior figures are leaving Siemens Wind Power with the departure of long-standing chief technology officer (CTO) Henrik Stiesdal and chief executive for onshore Jan Kjaersgaard.

Stiesdal – a hugely well-known figure in the wind industry – is retiring at the end of the year.

Siemens said Morten Rasmussen, currently head of R&D at Siemens Wind Power, will be taking over as head of the Technology unit as of 1 August.

A separate CTO function will be established, with Stiesdal keeping that role until he leaves.

Kjaersgaard is leaving on 30 September to be CEO of an unidentified Danish firm. Siemens is looking for a successor.
