The German utility group this week commissioned the 13.6MW Jüchenwind farm in the Rhine district of Neuss, on the site of one of its formeropencast mines.

RWE will co-run the plant with power producer BMRWindenergie.

The utility is also poised to grid-connect the Hörup windfarm in the state of Schleswig-Holstein, which has been repowered from 2MW to 8MW.

Hörup is being bought by joint venture company Green Gecco,which is co-owned by RWE Innogy and 29 municipal utilities and suppliers.
