After a bumper amount of new wind capacity was added in the US in 2012, new installations will slip to between 3GW and 5GW this year despite the last-minute extension of the PTC incentive, Zeschky predicts. US industry body AWEA last week said the country installed 13.1GW in 2012.
Zeschky adds that the company sees growth in the Americas outside the US, not only in Uruguay – where Nordex has just announced several orders – but also in other countries which he did not specify.
