Milton Keynes council in the English midlands tried toimpose a separation of 1.2km between new turbines andresidential dwellings.

Developer RWE Npower fought the attempt, which extended from350-metres the separation included in the council’s own, pre-existing planningguidelines.

Wind developers feared the Milton Keynes decision could seta precedent, but a judge at the High Court in London ruled the manner in which thedistance was introduced had been incorrect.
