The decision to seekanother vote by members of parliament (MEPs) on the so-called ‘backloading’proposals before their summer break was taken by the committee,which met this week for a second time since the measure was rejected.

MEPs last month voted334-315 against the backloading proposal. This would have temporarily removedsome 900 million carbon allowances from the oversupplied scheme.
