EDF completes 144MW Fallago Rig

Theproject, on theLammermuir hills in the Scottish Borders, uses 48 3MW Vestas wind turbines.

It wasdeveloped by the UK arm of the French utility giant’s renewables unit, EDFEnergies Nouvelles, which acquired original developer North BritishWindpower in February 2012.

Fallago Rig ran into early problems when the UK Ministry ofDefence claimed it could interfere with military radar systems, but that obstaclewas removed when the RAF installed new technology.

EDF said the wind farm adds to 18MW of smaller projects broughtinto service in the UK this year.
