Plans are on track to tow the 9,300-tonne platform by barge out to a location 75km off Germany next month for installation.
The high-voltage direct-current (HVDC) hub will be a cornerstone in the embryonic German offshore grid, serving as an 800MW collection point where alternating current coming in from up to four North Sea wind farms will be switched to direct current for long-distance transmission to shore.
