Primary energy production slouched nearly 11% last year, asthe dramatic decline in both UK oil and gas extraction continued, according tonew government figures.

Sharply bucking thattrend, however, were renewables, with generation up 19% last year.

Overall installed capacity of renewables rose 27% last year –including a 71% hike in PV capacity, a 63% rise in offshore wind, and a 27%increase in onshore wind.
