Locatedan hour outside of the capital city Tallinn, and employing 18 GE 2.5-100turbines, the Paldiski project brings Estonia’s total installed wind capacityto 269MW.

ThePaldiski wind farm is owned by Eesti Energia and Nelja Energia, the former ofwhich now owns 111MW of capacity in the country.

Althoughthe wind market in the Baltic States – comprising Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania– will remain small by the standards of many European countries, developers areincreasingly targeting their windy coastlines as they stretch to meeting theirbinding EU 2020 targets.
