The Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC) made the 10-year loan to Sapphire Wind Power for the project in the Ghoro-Keti Bandar wind corridor near Jhimpir, Sindh.
OPIC – the US government’s development finance agency – first approved the loan in March. It will use 33 GE machines.
Pakistan is turning to renewables to help modernise its creaking power system, which is struggling to meet growing demand and is prone to blackouts.
