The figure, up from 9.7% in the samethree months last year, equated to 12.8TWh over the period – a 55% increase – saidthe Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC).
Onshore wind’s output was 70% up on the2012 same quarter and offshore generation 51% ahead, with extra capacityand good wind conditions both playing their part.
Industry body RenewableUK said the figuresconfirm a trend of renewables' growing importance in the UK power mix, withwind a particularly strong driver.
