Gamesa applied for permission to build the 40-turbine HarelawRenewable Energy Park on Glenouther Moor, south of Neilston.
But Scottish environment minister Fergus Ewing said the visualimpact of the turbines’ up-to-118-metre tip heights would be too great andcited noise as another possible issue.
Ewing’s verdict backed an earlier public inquiry report thatflagged up “significant impacts” from the project.
