Vestas said it told employees of the factory closureyesterday. A total of 120 employees will be affected, including plantmanagement.

The closure is “part of the ongoingadjustment of Vestas’ global production capacity” said the company.

Vestas has been looking for savings andefficiencies in its global manufacturing base as part of a cost-saving driveunveiled last year by the now departed CEO Ditlev Engel.

Vestaschief operating officer Jean-Marc Lechêne said: “We regret having to close down the factory in Taranto.
