The 120-metre diameter rotor machine – dubbed by GE as a "brilliant" turbine for its sensor-driven industrial internet connection – has been tailored with an advanced control system and purpose-engineered hybrid tower for high-efficiency in low wind regimes, such as the project's densely-wooded site in the Oberpfalz.
The 2.5-120's control system analyses tens of thousands of data points every second to drive higher output and improve services productivity in variable wind regimes.
