Assembled, they will make up a 133-metre-tall tower weighing some 700 tonnes, which measures 6.5-metres in diameter at the base and 4.5-metres across at the nacelle.
The tower sections were transported by ship from Aalborg to Hanstholm, then over-land to Østerild.
The V164, launched in 2011 as the “new ruler of the sea”, is purpose-built for 25-years’ service in hostile offshore environments and extreme temperatures, with 80-metre-long rotor blades sweeping an area of more than 21,000 square metres.
