The
developer,
one
of
China’s
‘big
five’
power
companies,
signed
the
agreement
with
Pinghe
county
government
for
several
hundred
megawatts
of
thermal
and
wind
power
plants.
The
wind
farms
will
be
built
on
hilly
areas
across
the
county,
which
is
famous
for
its
‘tulou’,
or
traditional
fortified
communal
houses.
Huadian
will
invest
2.4bn
yuan
($384m)
in
the
wind
projects,
says
the
state-run
People’s
Daily
newspaper.
The
Beijing-based
company
could
not
be
reached
to
comment.
Fujian
province,
located
along
China’s
southeast
coast,
has
a
steadily
growing
wind
market,
with
its
strong
grid
attractive
to
developers
facing
high
levels
of
curtailment…
