Musselroe– equipped with 56 Vestas V90 turbines –cost A$394 ($350m) to build in Tasmania's northeast.
HydroTasmania chairman David Crean said Musselroe was only possible because of theRET – currently the subject of hawkish comments from the governmentof Prime Minister Tony Abbott, which was elected last year.
Abbotthas pledged to launch a review of the RET – currently set at 20% by2020 – and is under pressure from within his party to reduce or even scrap it.
