The5.5MW prototype has a 140-metre-diameter rotor and hub height of 100metres.
Theturbine is in line for a 2.5GW project spanning Jeollanam and Jeollabukprovinces.
"Wealso plan to accelerate marketing campaign overseas including Asia and Europeon the basis of ample experiences and knowhow we have accumulated from avariety of offshore plant projects,” says HHI's Koo Young-jun.
Theturbine is designed to withstand winds of 62.5m/s and is expected to generate the power to supply 1,100 households a year.
